Second batch of “Crystal” styled text. I really enjoyed thinking about light refraction in this design and how characters would light up with a back-light and crystal like formation highlighted by the streamer. The feedback was enough to really consider how light might behave when falling on an an obsolescent material.

After making the necessary market research into a new offering from Lycamobile, above shows the working concept of the Lycamobile data roll-over icon/graphic.
I really liked the sky concept of the piggy bank (although slightly cryptic) it gives a positive slant on the offering that I have not seen surpassed. I.e. Putting money in the customer’s pocket.
By using the same colour for the icon aswell I hope to develop a visual language for the customer to immediately identify the added value with products including data roll-over. It is a very competitive offering for the Polish market which we would need to respond to in a very short time frame. Hopefully enough market research was made to understand the existing iconography associated with roll-over data.
Interesting project I found through Bëhance following on from my recent tour of the galaxy made with a friend. The top image also reminds me of a scene in the parachute ending music video illustrated by Will Sweeney whose lucid style cones alive 2D ani, maybe also similar in a way to the secret door into the Mines of Moria during the epic Lord of the Rings trilogy. Although this original illustration could be attributed to Alan Lee, illustrator for all of the Tolkein published works.
