Andrew Chapman Landyachtz Longboarding Mt. Raepehu New Zealand

Longboarding, Mt. Raepehu (Animation Research)

This video shows an extremely daring run by longboarder Andrew Chapman, these guys travel the world doing this! I was showing this to a Kiwi who lived in the shadow of Mt. Raupehu and he said that the roads would have been extremely quiet this time of the year. The mounted camera gives some really interesting insights into the amount of adjustments this guy is making, absolutely incredible! Also the fast flowing lines this guy is using are something I would like to try and incorporate into the Rocket Animation.

Hexmap Lighting/Visuals/Mapping

Check out the latest combination of mapping/lighting visuals produced by Hexmap ltd. These three projections give a softer yet illuminating glow that really has a presence in a huge club like the Stannary, Falmouth. I am currently working on some additions to the 3D cube projections that Jackson and I will be able to form a kind of narrative/story from during the pockets allowed within a music set.

Updated Da Londra T’s

The Updated Love Football designs ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Made by integrating the geometric heart with the football itself. The first was intended to correlate the heart with surrounding pentagons but ended up looking too much like a stained glass window and not enough like a football. Look carefully at the first design though and an owl figure appears from the symmetry. The third and final design spawned from trying to find the simplest possible combination of shapes to form the football. If I am to work for Da Londra again I now know that the simplest possible design is preferred, but it is also a very good approach to T-shirt design generally, mainly due to printing constrictions. Check out the design in-store here

3D Blender Earth Lighting modelling Nasa blue marble

3D Earth

A quick excercise in wrapping a spherical image onto a spherical model using the NASA Blue Marble project imagery

I unwrapped and mapped images from Nasa’s Blue Marble project to create the most realistic rendition of Earth I could for the home/menu screen of a game I am currently designing. The Hyperbolic extrusion in the third image is meant to be a futuristic space travel lift. The fourth image is meant to portray the ‘terminator’ line between day and night, with the sun illuminating the land of Africa, and the city lights lighting up South America. I have set up the two lights to effect individual layers in order to animate the terminator! Below is some footage from the ISS showing its journey to the darkside! In the last frame you can just see the streetlights starting to emerge from the darkness. WARNING! Vertigo sufferers may want to look away now.

Dunbury Studios Website

The finished website I made for a small Recording Studio based in Kent (circular format). I tried to keep the design as simplistic as possible in order to facilitate the navigation and attainment of information from the site, whilst also making it appealing to look at. I hope that a professional look was also achieved from the website to improve the standing of the company with its clients. I am also working on a loading bar for the music samples on the site, which should look pretty slick when finished. The idea is to synchronise the %loaded with the radius of a circle that will be masked by the background. I hope the originality of this concept will add to the Website’s look and feel, perhaps also to give a hidden extra element which can sometimes be quite impressive when browsing the web. UPDATE COMING SOON!
